ROW hosts groups of high school and college students for engaging, meaningful service-learning experiences. We only host one or two groups per year and are able to tailor any trip to a particular group’s needs.
Instead of using students for simple maintenance work, ROW connects all groups with the chance to have a lasting impact in the communities we serve. Previous groups have:
- Converted a junkyard into an organic community garden for a local pre-kindergarten facility, which provides fruits and vegetables for the center’s infant nutrition program
- Built a meeting space for a community microfinance group, enabling the organization to hold monthly assemblies at their own office for the first time
- Restored water service to approximately 150 residents of a community by replacing 1,000 feet of leaky piping
We can accommodate groups of any size; we offer all kinds of housing options, including home stays, rented housing with “host mothers” that care for students or dorm-style bunk rooms.
